About Me

My name is Heather Ohlau and I am your student's Math teacher.  I am entering my 13th year teaching in the Edwardsville School District.  I have spent the first 12 years at Liberty Middle School.  During my first twelve years in education, I have taught 8th Grade Social Studies, 8th Grade Literature Lab, 8th Grade P.E, 8th Grade Pre - Algebra, 8th Grade Algebra, 8th Grade Honors Algebra, 8th Grade Math Seminar, 7th Grade Math, and 6th Grade P.E.  I am also a member of the 8th Grade Math Curriculum Committee for District 7.

 

I was a collegiate athlete at SIUE for four years competing in volleyball.  In 2018, I was inducted into the SIUE Athletic Hall of Fame.  I have coached volleyball at EHS from 2006 - 2013 and have recently reentered into coaching at the high school this school year, 8th Grade volleyball at Liberty from 2006 - 2012 and 2016 - 2018, and Girls' Track and Field at Liberty from 2007 - 2016.

 

My previous education includes:

attending and graduating from Freeburg Community High School in 2002,

receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Middle School Math Endorsement from SIUE in 2006,

and recently received a Master's Degree in Educational Administration in 2015.

 

I have been married to my husband for eleven years and we have three wonderful little children: Madelyn (9 years old), Peyton (7 years old), and Jocelyn (5 1/2 years old).
